You have just described my life! Over the last year I have stopped watching tv altogether without quite knowing why. I think I just lost interest in all the storylines and couldn’t be bothered any more.
For some reason I am better with books. Movies are hit and miss, currently trying to work up the motivation to watch John Wick 4 (loved the previous 3) but it’s so long… 😩
Great point about books. Me too. I think this is about how reading stimulates the mind in different ways. You can move at your own pace and, crucially, your imagination is part of the narrative meaning that it’s likely to be less overwhelming.

Ah I hadn’t thought of that! Makes sense though, reading has always been much more engaging for me.
