I'd say my inner critic doesn't necessarily stop me from attempting anything, but will always be surprised that I managed to bring it to success. The unfortunate thought fallacy here is 'oh but if I can do it, it's apparently not as hard as I thought it was'. I do try to celebrate wins, but I'm quite bad at it because of the above. I noted that ~creating~ things (whether it's shelves or more 'frivolous' things, like your drawing or the honey bee I painted) is the one thing that will make me feel proud at the end of it, no matter how ugly/dysfunctional it turns out!

You make a great point with 'oh but if I can do it, it's apparently not as hard as I thought it was' because thats the critical voice 'discounting' our victories in another attempt to make them seem less valuable. Yes, creative pursuits do seem to be incredibly powerful in helping us to quieten the critical voice or shout above it, even the ones that don't turn out all that well.
